Pirates Galleon

If you wish to pull out all the stops and celebrate your birthday, wedding anniversary etc. in an extravagant way, and bring a large crowd of friends with you, we can organise a party aboard a ‘Pirate Galleon’.

The ‘Pirate Galleons’, built in 2001, are perfect reproductions of vessels used by the Republic of Venice from 1600 – 1800 for cargo, as warships, for the plundering of trade routes, for exploration and for the maritime activities which brought so much to enrich Venice and her islands in terms of history, art and culture.

As soon as you come aboard, you will notice the cannons lined up along the galleon’s hull, swags of mooring ropes, rope halyards, old rum and wine casks, ornamental decorations, pictures of pirates in action and many other tiny details that go to add to a genuine and truly original atmosphere, just right for your exclusive party.

Guests are received by the captain and his crew who, all dressed in the costume of the period, welcome visitors aboard with a drink – as they hand out bandanna’s to their new pirate guests.

Four rounds of smoky cannon give the signal that it is time to cast off from the moorings and to immerse yourself in a fantastic adventure that takes your party weaving between the islands and marshes of Venice’s lagoon. The trip takes 5-6 hours (or longer on request). Tailor made excursions can be arranged to include visits to a number of islands in the lagoon.

Throughout the whole trip, entertainment is provided in the form of games and music of different kinds – belly dancers, theatre players in costume, a disco, a Hawaiian party, bands etc.

The galleons are equipped for all weathers and for parties of all types. In summer, passengers are fully protected from summer showers whilst in winter the bridge and main deck are covered and the whole space heated to accommodate up to 100 pirates.

An exquisite lunch or dinner can be provided aboard, with table service for up to 84 pirates or a buffet for up to 150 – with menus to be agreed with the client. The price includes 5-6 hours sailing time, basic bareboat crew, activities, music, a free soft drinks bar plus beer and prosecco, a bandanna as a souvenir of the event.
